A Brief History
In 1934 Henrich Schlevogt, a Czechoslovakian artisan of Jewish descent, introduced a line of art glass under the name of "Ingrid". Mr. Schlevogt employed the finest craftsman of his day, and his glass line was enormously successful. Tragically in 1938, due to the outbreak of World War II, his success came to an abrupt halt. Mr. Schlevogt fled Czechoslovakia leaving his molds behind. In the mid 1950s, the new socialist government started reproducing his line, but only for a brief period. Now, almost 60 years later, through Czech It Out, Mr. Schlevogt's designs are available in a limited edition, using his original molds.
