About the Artist, Dennis Patrick Lewan:
Creativity and versatility well describe the works of this most accomplished artist. After
studying architecture and design in school, Dennis pursued a career in music, composing
and performing in a Rock n Roll Band on two continents. His extensive travels
provided the opportunity to study the paintings of the old masters and accumulate a vast
collection of references which now authenticate
the details in his paintings. His art reflects the nostalgic lifestyle of the 18th and
19th centuries with colorful, realistic and gem-like precision. His artistic aim is to
provide the viewer with a glimpse into the past, acquainting them with its beauty and
serenity while executing the brilliant color play and back lighting of the Old Masters.
His most popular subjects include English manor houses, cottages, village streets, quaint
neighborhoods, flower gardens and harbors. His art hangs in the homes and
offices of some of the worlds most prestigious people and corporations and he has
had extensive one-man showings in the finest galleries from Madison Avenue to Rodeo Drive.
Dennis lives and works with his wife in California but has traveled extensively throughout
Europe to study the style and feel of the old masters which he so beautifully captures.
